Job summary

As part of the Power Team, you will gain hands-on experience in developing high-voltage transmission documentation using tools like AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Qualifications

  • 0-6 years of experience required.
  • Valid Driver’s License is required.
  • Introductory ability to read, understand and develop construction drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Creating and revising drawings and documentation for projects in AutoCAD.
  • Coordinating with technical personnel to gather and record data for design projects.
  • Engaging in mentorship and structured learning opportunities with experienced engineers.

Role Summary

Join a team where you’ll work alongside experienced engineers and designers, contribute to the development of high‑voltage transmission and distribution documentation, and build your technical foundation. You’ll gain hands‑on experience using industry‑standard tools like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and PLS‑CADD to extract and organize data for construction drawings. This role offers the opportunity to participate in real projects, learn utility standards and safety codes, and grow your drafting skills in a collaborative environment. Qualifications
  • Associate of Applied Science degree in Computer‑Aided Drafting and Design (CAD) or Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology
  • 0‑6 years of experience
  • Foundational understanding of design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation
  • Interest in high‑voltage transmission/distribution lines; experience is a plus
  • Introductory ability to read, understand and develop construction drawings
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment, working with individuals from various offices and disciplines
  • Developing analytical and organizational skills, with growing attention to detail and willingness to learn problem‑solving approaches
  • Adaptable and eager to learn, with foundational ability to collaborate with project teams in a multi‑discipline environment
  • Developing written and verbal communication skills with a strong willingness to learn and engage effectively with team members
  • Valid Driver’s License is required
Responsibilities
  • Creating and revising drawings and documentation for transmission and distribution projects in AutoCAD, from scope documents, engineering sketches and/or verbal instructions
  • Coordinating with technical personnel to gather and record data for design projects and completing as‑built and record print revisions from marked drawings
  • Assisting in preparing applications and supporting documentation for engineering permits when necessary
  • Engaging in mentorship and structured learning opportunities with experienced engineers and designers to build foundational skills
  • Ensuring the quality of your own work through self‑review and adherence to established standards
  • Preparing bill of material to procure needed materials for projects
