Job summary

UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Safe Harbor is seeking a compassionate Crisis Technician I to join the Crisis Residential Unit (CRU) in Erie, PA. The role supports residents with ADLs, mobility, and medication management while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop treatment plans.

Training is provided on hire, and prior crisis experience is a plus but not required. The schedule is M-F with unit-need adjustments, and the facility offers on-site parking, business casual attire,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• B.S. degree preferred.
• Crisis experience preferred.
• Willing to learn; comprehensive training provided on hire.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living).
• Help with tasks like mobility and medication management.
• Participating in Multidisciplinary Activities; attend staff meetings and collaborate with professionals.
• Work with crisis care staff, program staff, and physicians to create treatment plans.
• Use a client-centered, strength-based approach for stability.
• Act as a member of the recovery team, providing direct care to patients and families per CSSP principles.
• Documentation and safety: meeting accurate documentation and records; ensure safety in the therapeutic environment.
• Flexible schedule; rotating shifts; may transport medications between departments.
• Licensure, certifications, and clearances: Act 31/126; ASIST within 1 year; CPR/BLS within 30 days; CCMC; Act 31/33/34 renewals; FBI clearance within renewal.
