Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. seeks a skilled worker to safely smelt metals and support multiple plant areas, including Isa, electric furnace, convertor, anode and acid plants at the Globe-Mate/ Miami site.

The role involves operating heavy equipment, assisting with maintenance, and following SOPs in a high-visibility, 24/7 operation. Minimum six months’ experience with material handling equipment, plus strong communication skills and safety awareness, are required.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of experience with material handling equipment.
• Possess good communication skills.
• Must have completed academic and practical competencies required and demonstrate the aptitude, passing a safety-focused written assessment if required.

Responsibilities

• Operate tapping machines and belting systems.
• Work around an industrial boiler, electric furnace, convertors, anode plant and acid plant.
• May operate skid-steer loaders, front-end loaders, haul trucks, cranes and other heavy equipment.
• Assist with maintenance and SOP development for smelter operations.
