Job summary

Olsson seeks a Construction Technician to perform observation and staking, support geotechnical and materials testing, and prepare progress reports. You will document findings and communicate results to project managers, ensuring safety and quality on-site.

You will travel to diverse job sites, work in varied terrains and weather, and benefit from a company truck, PPE, safety eyewear reimbursement, laptop, and phone reimbursement. A driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a construction related field preferred.
• 0-3 years of experience in construction observation or construction inspection.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving history.
• The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Job Description

As a Construction Technician, you will perform various types of construction observation and staking. You will assist with geotechnical and construction materials testing, inspections, and field or laboratory testing for various projects. As an integral team member, you’ll gather project information, review work progress, and prepare construction progress reports. You will document your findings and communicate results to project managers and other stakeholders, facilitating informed decision‑making and maintaining the structural integrity and safety of construction projects.

You will travel to various job sites at different stages of construction and work in all types of terrain and weather conditions

This position includes:

• The use of a company truck for transportation to and from job sites.
• Applicable PPE (personal protective equipment) provided.
• Prescription safety eyewear and work boot reimbursement program.
• Company issued laptop.
• Cell phone reimbursement options.
