Job summary

Olsson is seeking a Construction Technician to perform various construction observation and staking duties across multiple project sites. You will support geotechnical and construction materials testing, inspections, and field or laboratory testing, communicating findings to project managers and stakeholders.

As a team member, you will gather information, review progress, and prepare progress reports while traveling to job sites under varying weather and terrain conditions.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a construction related field preferred.
  • 0-3 years of experience in construction observation or construction inspection.
  • Interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving history.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Job Description

As a Construction Technician, you will perform various types of construction observation and staking. You will assist with geotechnical and construction materials testing, inspections, and field or laboratory testing for various projects. As an integral team member, you'll gather project information, review work progress, and prepare construction progress reports. You will document your findings and communicate results to project managers and other stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making and maintaining the structural integrity and safety of construction projects.

You will travel to various job sites at different stages of construction and work in all types of terrain and weather conditions.

This position includes
  • The use of a company truck for transportation to and from job sites.
  • Applicable PPE (personal protective equipment) provided.
