Intertek Building & Construction in Fairfax, Virginia is seeking an Entry-Level Construction Technician to join our team in construction materials testing. This role offers both full-time and part-time positions with on-site training and room for growth in the A/E/C industry.

You will perform testing, observe site activities, and document results while following detailed procedures and safety guidelines. A High School Diploma or GED is preferred and some field testing experience is welcome.

Qualifications

Effective communication (written, verbal) required.
Ability to read and understand work plans is required.
Basic math, calculator and computer skills are required.
Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

Performs testing and site assessment duties under supervision.
Operates testing equipment and conducts soil, concrete testing and data reporting.
Works with drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
Observes site activities and performs tasks using specific methods.
Maintains detailed documentation and data from test results.
Calculates mathematical test results with a calculator.
Communicates with client and project teams effectively.
Adheres to safety practices and policies at all times.
