Job summary

Tolunay Wong Engineers, Inc. is hiring entry-level Construction Material Testing Technicians for our Baton Rouge/Geismar, Louisiana location. You will learn to test and inspect soils, concrete, asphalt and more on real jobsites, with no CMT background required.

We provide training and certification starting on day one to launch a hands-on technical career. This position is a great fit for recent grads in construction management, civil engineering or geology, or veterans seeking a practical,

Qualifications

• No experience required; full company-paid training toward ACI, NICET, and state DOT certifications.
• Reliable transportation (truck preferred) and valid driver’s license.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willing to work outside early mornings, irregular hours and weekends.
• Must be able to walk and stand on uneven surfaces.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass drug test, background check, and fit-for-duty evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sampling or testing soils, concrete, asphalt and other materials.
• Support field and/or lab personnel to complete tasks.
• Transports equipment, specimens or documents to field personnel, laboratory, clients or other offices, and provides physical assistance in equipment set-up.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Learn to write clear field reports.
• Communicate daily with dispatch and site contacts.
• Operate safely and follow TWE safety policies and procedures.
