We are looking for a hard‑working individual who enjoys working outdoors to join our Construction Services team out of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, as an entry‑level Construction Materials Professional.

What You Will Do:

As an entry‑level Construction Materials Professional, you are vital in guaranteeing the integrity and safety of construction endeavors by evaluating and confirming the characteristics and quality of materials used.

  • Testing construction materials: Perform tests and oversee special inspections of materials such as soil, concrete, asphalt, and others to ensure they meet project specifications and industry standards.
  • Analyzing construction plans and specifications: Verify that they align with project goals before conducting field observations.
  • Recording and managing field activities: Document detailed observations and test results during project execution, using Metafield or other management systems daily for efficient data handling and coordination.
  • Preparing reports and proposals: Help draft reports and proposals for smaller projects, ensuring thorough and accurate assessments and documentation.
  • Communicating daily: Interact with management, contractors, and clients to maintain project transparency and provide regular updates on progress.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a similar technical field
  • Experience: 0‑2 years of experience in construction materials testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt
  • Certifications: You are willing to obtain at least one (1) industry certification within 6 months of employment
  • Key Competencies
    • Basic math and communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

This role involves hands‑on work in outdoor environments, and with Company‑provided Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), you'll need to be comfortable with:

  • Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing (potentially up to 12 hours a day)
  • Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
  • Maneuvering field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground around active construction sites
  • Working outside of normal business hours and traveling (typically out‑of‑town and/or overnight) as project needs arise
