Job summary

Kinsley Construction, Inc. in Hagerstown, MD is hiring an entry-level Laborer to gain hands-on experience in carpentry and concrete construction. You will learn multiple skilled positions and contribute to various building components on site.

You will work on projects primarily in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. This safety-sensitive role requires reliability, good communication and a willingness to learn new skills.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass DOT pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening.
• Ability to communicate and build professional relationships with co-workers and upper management.
• Punctuality and dependability are required.
• Previous carpentry or concrete experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut or shape wood, plastic and other material.
• Use hand and power tools such as circular saws, nail guns, sanders, tape measures, squares, levels, brooms.
• Fasten materials with nails, screws, staples and adhesives.
• Construct building frameworks including walls, floors and door frames.
• Follow blueprints and building plans.
• Install windows, doors, cabinets and fixtures.
• Clean and prepare construction sites and remove debris.
• Load or unload building materials for use in construction.
• Build or take apart bracing, scaffolding and temporary structures.
• Help craft workers by carrying tools and materials or setting up equipment.
• Learn to operate excavation and grading equipment.
• Assist with placing and tying rebar and placing/finishing concrete.
• Adhere to safe work practices and procedures.
