Concepts NREC in White River Junction, VT is seeking a Machinist I to join the Machine Shop on the 1st shift. This entry-level role focuses on assisting with setup and operation of CNC machines, performing basic machining tasks, and supporting experienced machinists under close supervision.

No prior machining experience is required; a high school diploma or GED is enough. Candidates should be detail-oriented, reliable, and able to follow safety rules and shop procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No previous machining experience required; mechanical aptitude or prior manufacturing exposure preferred.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident due to export-controlled program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes, CNC mills, and 5-axis CNC mills.
• Support experienced machinists with part loading/unloading, material handling, and general shop tasks.
• Perform basic measurements and visual inspections to verify part quality.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning machines and work surfaces.
• Follow detailed work instructions and process documentation accurately.
• Assist with routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting as directed.
• Record job information and inspection results as required.
• Follow all safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
