Job summary

NOVA Engineering in Norcross, GA is seeking a CMT Field Engineer to perform field testing, inspection, and data analysis across exciting projects in the Atlanta area. This salaried role includes opportunities for overtime and advancement in a collaborative team environment.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program with 0–4+ years of experience in soils, concrete, and related materials testing. EIT is preferred but not required; travel will be involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 0–4+ years in construction testing/inspections of soils, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials.
• Entry-level graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) license is preferred, not required.
• Position entails approx. 81% fieldwork and 20% office with some travel.

Description

NOVA Engineering is seeking a CMT Field Engineer in Norcross, GA to work on Construction Materials Testing & Special Inspection projects throughout the Atlanta, GA metropolitan area. This is a Salaried + Overtime Paid position with the opportunity to work on some of the most prestigious projects in the southeastern U.S. with much room for career advancement.

Primary responsibilities will include:

• Staff/project engineering duties including data reduction, analysis & fieldwork for commercial, industrial, retail, government, office and residential projects (Construction Materials Testing/Inspection and some geotechnical engineering)
• Assisting with project management & reporting
• Field inspection, sampling & testing of soils/foundations, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel, etc.
• Report preparation
• Client consultation and maintenance
• Providing assistance to other NOVA team members to promote the overall objectives of the company.

The preferred candidate will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, or an equivalent international degree with NCEES credential evaluation, is required.
• 0 - 4+ years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials preferred
• Entry-level graduates are urged to apply
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) license is preferred not required
• Position entails approximately 81% fieldwork and 20% office with occasional travel.
