Job summary

Option Care Health seeks a pharmacy technician under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist to ensure smooth and accurate pharmacy operations in compliance with policies and state regulations. Responsibilities include prescription processing, medication dispensing support, inventory management, and patient assistance to ensure accurate planning of materials and positive patient experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services.
• Ability to perform basic and intermediate level mathematical calculations.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Basic level skill in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Review/validate basic prescription drug refill requests and process according to policies.
• Assist with preparing and dispensing medications & supplies.
• Assist with maintaining equipment through calibration, inspection, cleaning, testing, and informing supervisor of defects.
• Collect & maintain basic patient information required for planning materials/supplies, equipment, and prescriptions.
• Help ensure a positive patient experience by answering basic patient questions and requests.
• Receive & verify quantities of incoming supplies & materials; stock & store new supplies; review expiration dates; identify shortages.
• Pick and pack materials & supplies; create tickets; track inventory in applicable systems; schedule routine patient deliveries.
• Clean & sanitize surfaces and laminar hood flows; organize supplies.
