Job summary

Labcorp is seeking an entry level Technician to join our team in Calabasas, CA. The role involves specimen testing under the supervision of a Clinical Lab Scientist and maintaining meticulous records for reagents and equipment.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science or related field. Eligible candidates may have Labcorp experience and prior lab experience is preferred. Schedule may include overtime with a Sunday–Wednesday shift.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Participate in specimen testing under the oversight of a Clinical Lab Scientist.
• Record dates of receipt, use, and expiration for reagents, kits, controls, and standards; ensure non-expired materials.
• Perform pipetting using preset devices or calibrated dispensers.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and document PM activities.
• Adhere to SOPs and safety requirements of Esoterix, CLIA, CAP and other regulatory bodies.
• Document all activities including maintenance logs, function checks, troubleshooting and quality control.
• Develop understanding of laboratory medicine and clinical significance of results.
