Responsibilities

• Assists with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing, and transporting specimens.
• Maintains equipment and stock of supplies; orders supplies as needed.
• Confirms eligibility, verifies insurance benefits, referrals, and authorization for patient registrations.
• Communicates test results to appropriate healthcare providers.
• Maintains a safe, aseptic, and organized work area.
• Performs clerical duties including supply distribution, answering phones, data entry, and filing.
• May perform venipuncture on patients of all ages.
• May assist in delivery of physicians' reports via phone and electronic distribution.
• May perform waived laboratory testing on-site and report results according to government standards.
