Job summary

Hampton Lumber is seeking an Operator 1 – Cleanup Crew at the Morton mill to keep the facility clean and safe while supporting cross-training to operate some advanced equipment. This full-time role focuses on eliminating hazards and maintaining orderly work areas.

The position offers a structured schedule (3:00am–1:30pm, four days a week) and a starting wage of $23.34 per hour (~$48,547 per year before overtime and bonuses).

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Sawmill experience not required.
  • Able to work at a moderate to fast pace.
  • Lift 20–30 pounds repeatedly.
  • Willing to learn new skills and be a team player.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up slabs, sticks, sawdust, and chips off lower mill floors.
  • Assist with dust mitigation.
  • Maintain a safe environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Apply good housekeeping standards to your work area or any area you observe.

Overview

This position's primary function is to keep the facility clean and operational in order to eliminate safety and fire hazards. This is a full time position with cross training lead-ins to operate some of the advanced equipment in the facility.

Work Schedule: 3:00am-1:30pm, four days per week, flexible as needed. Wage starts at $23.34 per hour ($48,547 per year before any shift differentials, overtime and production bonuses). Production bonuses are possible for every employee each month, based on the plant site's target goals.

Operator 1- Cleanup crew is just the first step towards a long list of exciting and diverse job opportunities available at Hampton. As you are trained on different jobs in each department to assist with breaks, you will gain the job experience to be able to apply internally when advanced positions with increased wages become available.
