Job summary

Alameda County Public Works Agency invites applications for the Junior Engineer (Flood Control Design Section). You will learn civil engineering tasks under supervision and progressively undertake more complex assignments, preparing contract documents and supporting construction activities.

Ideal candidates hold a civil engineering degree or EIT eligibility, with exposure to CAD tools (Autodesk Civil 3D) and a willingness to learn Alameda County Hydrology & Hydraulic methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent before appointment.
• Engineer-in-Training certificate preferred.
• California Engineer-in-Training eligibility or licensure not yet required.

Responsibilities

• Learn professional engineering work under close supervision and perform routine office/field tasks.
• Support project engineers with design and development of CIP projects and contract documents.
• Prepare advertisement and contract documents; assist with construction-related activities.
