Job summary

Passero Associates is seeking an entry-level Civil Engineer to join our St. Augustine, FL office. You will support production of project plans for site development, municipal, and airport projects across the Southeast, including grading, drainage, utilities, and cost estimates.

You will assist with design documentation, construction plans, technical specs, and bid packages, under licensed engineers. Relevant AutoCAD Civil 3D experience and EIT pursuit are preferred as you collaborate with

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program by start date.
• 0-2 years civil engineering experience; internship or co-op preferred.
• Coursework in civil/infrastructure design and related topics.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Autodesk Civil 3D preferred.
• EIT certification desired or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design, cost estimates, and permitting documents.
• Develop design documents, construction plans, specifications, engineering reports, and bid packages.
• Perform design tasks under licensed engineers, including grading, drainage, and utilities.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, designers, surveyors, and other disciplines.

Entry-Level Civil Engineer

Job Description

Passero Associates is seeking an entry-level Civil Engineer to join our team and report to our St. Augustine, FL office. In this role, you will support the production of project plans for site development, municipal, and airport projects throughout the Southeast, including site geometry, grading, drainage and erosion control, pavement, utilities, stormwater management, quantity takeoffs, technical specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates.

• Assist with conceptual designs, engineering calculations, preliminary and detailed cost estimates, and permitting documents.
• Support development of design documents, construction plans, technical specifications, engineering reports, and bid packages.
• Perform civil engineering design tasks under the direction of licensed professional engineers, including grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, pavement, erosion control, and site geometry.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software to prepare plans, profiles, surfaces, quantities, and design documentation.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs, engineer's estimates, technical research, and preparation of project documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, designers, surveyors, and other disciplines.
• Participate in client, agency, and project-team meetings as assigned.
• Assist with construction administration services in the office and field, including site observations, submittal reviews, RFIs, and project closeout documentation.
• Participate in internal quality-control reviews and professional development activities.

Qualifications/Experience

• BS degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, completed or expected by the position start date.
• 0-2 years of civil engineering experience; relevant internship, co-op, or prior AEC experience is preferred.
• Coursework in civil/infrastructure design, transportation engineering, water resources, pavement engineering, construction management, or related topics.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Civil 3D preferred.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or ability and commitment to obtain EIT certification, preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative project-team environment and manage multiple assignments.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to report to the St. Augustine, FL office.
