Job summary

Qnity is hiring for a full-time nonexempt operator position at our site that produces polymers used in the semiconductor manufacturing process. These polymers are high-purity, low-metal materials, and the role emphasizes safety, adherence to ISO requirements, and meeting production schedules.

You will operate chemical processes, participate in shift handovers, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts while supporting a team in a dynamic electronics manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Willing to work a 12-hour rotating shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and short notice call-in.
  • Preferred: Associate degree or manufacturing certification.
  • Experience with chemical manufacturing.
  • Experience with 5S/lean teams or quality/process-improvement programs.
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems, chemical reactions, or manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Operate chemical processes or systems using computer systems or semi-automatic equipment.
  • Maintain safety standards at all times and follow emergency procedures when necessary.
  • Monitor recording instruments, flow meters, panel lights, or other indicators and verify process conditions.
  • Collaborate with team members and leaders during shifts and handovers; raise issues and prepare for next shift.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and collaborate to solve problems.

Qnity has an exciting job opportunity for candidates looking for a career nonexempt operator position. The site produces polymers used in the semiconductor manufacturing process. These polymers are high purity, low metal materials. This position performs various operations necessary to produce polymers, adhering to all applicable company rules and regulations, legal regulations, and ISO environmental and quality requirements while also meeting production schedules. Everyday performance of duties in this position must be done in an ethical manner with safety as the primary responsibility.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Control or operate chemical processes or systems of machines, using computer systems or semi-automatic equipment. Maintains safety standards at all times and initiates and follows emergency procedures when necessary. Monitor recording instruments, flow meters, panel lights, or other indicators and listen for warning signals, to verify conformity of process conditions. Partners with team members and leaders during shifts and at shift hand-over; Raises potential issues and barriers appropriately; Leaves area prepared for next shift. Identifies continuous improvement opportunities; Collaborates to solve problems.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

The following are required: High School diploma or GED equivalent. Willing and able to work a 12 hours rotating shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on short notice call in as needed by the business. Preferred Requirements Associate degree in a related field, or a manufacturing certification. Experience with chemical manufacturing. Experience working in 5S teams, lean manufacturing teams, or other quality/process improvement programs. Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems, chemical reactions, or manufacturing processes.

Physical Requirements

Willing and able to: lift 10lbs frequently, 25lbs regularly, 55lbs occasionally; climb stairs, ladders, and columns; stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, utilize visual acuity for close work, reach overhead, hear and respond to alarms; and work in various weather conditions. Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hardhat, Nomex, protective eyewear, face shield, and respirator as needed.

This position has generous compensation 28.86-34.33 per hour. This position works a rotating 12-hour shift including paid holidays, and some voluntary overtime.
