Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking an entry level Driver Trainee in Springfield, MA to learn tractor trailer or straight truck operations across local and regional routes. You will train under a driver trainer, complete DOT-compliant inspections, and deliver products to customers while maintaining safety and accuracy.

The program offers a guaranteed $300 per day during 11–16 weeks of training, with Monday–Friday dispatch and home daily.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid CDL A license required.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years; pass post-offer drug test and road test.
• DOT Health Card current or valid.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete Driver Trainee or Dock-to-Driver Training program.
• Ride with and assist driver trainer during deliveries.
• Perform pre/post trip inspections according to DOT regulations.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety policies; report hazards.
• Deliver orders on time; unload at customer locations and obtain signatures.
• Secure loads and maintain paperwork for freight; complete daily hours log.
