Job summary

American Driver in Birmingham, AL is hiring an entry-level CDL driver for OTR routes. No experience required; you will be paired with a mentor, trained on live freight, and advanced to solo driving when ready.

Expect 4–6 weeks of paid training, with weekly pay and a solid onboarding package. You will work with Freightliner/Kenworth equipment, enjoy rider and pet policies from day one, and benefit from a structured pay progression and orientation pay.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL, age 21+ (as required)
• 120+ hours of instruction from an accredited truck driving school required to qualify for paid training

Responsibilities

• Complete 4–6 weeks of paid training with a mentor.
• Train on live freight and progress toward solo driving as soon as ready.
• Participate in a program with ELD, HOS, inspections, and daily operations.
• Maintain weekly pay via direct deposit and take advantage of orientation pay.

Training

On the Road

• 60% drop and hook

Pay

• $0.56–$0.65 CPM based on experience
• Most drivers earn $1,200–$1,500 weekly
• Stop, layover, and breakdown pay

• $300 orientation pay
• Weekly direct deposit

Home Time

• Every two weeks on a planned schedule
