Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer to work on HVAC, utilities, plumbing, and fire protection systems across the country. You will translate theory into practical system designs, work with a technical team, and gain exposure to multi-discipline projects.

Responsibilities include design calculations, coordinating with other trades, and developing building safety plans under professional supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, or Fire Protection Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Desire to design building mechanical systems, including HVAC and piping, for buildings and facilities.
• EIT or ability to obtain within 6 months of start

• Provide system design calculations and related design services with coordination among trades under guidance of Professional Engineers.
• Assist in design of HVAC dry side, utility systems, building plumbing, and fire suppression; contribute to building safety plans.
• Own completeness, accuracy and timeliness of assigned work, progressing from basic to more complex design tasks with a technical team.

Your impact

We’re seeking an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer with an interest in HVAC, Utilities, Plumbing, and Fire Protection Systems to join our team across the country. You’ll have the opportunity to use your theoretical knowledge and apply it to solving today’s challenges.

As part of our team, you’ll have the chance to work on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients’ challenges locally and worldwide by providing a range of engineering services.

You’ll be responsible for providing system design calculations and other related design services including coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering) under the guidance of Professional Engineers. You’ll use your skills and experience to help deliver and complete challenging and engaging projects. You’ll assist in the design of HVAC dry side, utility systems, building plumbing systems, and fire suppression while also helping develop the plans for the overall building safety.

You’ll also take ownership of the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the work assigned to you by demonstrating the ability to progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Proficiency in Revit
• Prior work experience with a design firm in an internship or similar setting.

The base salary range for this position is $58,656.00 to $88,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
