Job summary

Rush Truck Centers in Ashland, VA is seeking a Body Shop Technician to join our team. You will review repair orders, perform initial teardown, and ensure repairs follow the documented process before vehicles move to the next stage.

You will gain knowledge of manufacturer repair procedures, identify parts for edging, apply coatings, re-assemble painted parts, and conduct a final quality check prior to detailing. This role offers growth within a large nationwide network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of body shop experience.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability required.

Responsibilities

• Review each repair order, work order, and notes to understand repairs needed before beginning work on the vehicle.
• Complete repairs according to the repair order or supplement documentation.
• Gain knowledge of manufacturer repair processes.
• Perform initial teardown of the vehicle.
• Identify parts for cut-in and edging.
• Follow procedures for under-coating, corrosion protection, seam sealer and lubricants.
• Re-assemble painted vehicle and parts.
• Perform a final quality check and review the work order before detailing.

Responsibilities

• Review each repair order, work order, and estimator’s notes to understand repairs needed prior to beginning work on the vehicle.
• All repairs must be completed according to the documentation on the repair order of the supplement.
• Must gain knowledge of the manufacturer’s and technical repair process.
• Perform initial teardown of vehicle.
• Identify parts for cut-in and edging.
• Follow company procedures in application of under-coating, corrosion protection, seam sealer, weld through primer and lubricants.
• Re-assemble painted vehicle and painted parts.
• Perform a final quality check and review of work order prior to sending the vehicle to the detail department.
