Job summary
Yoh, a Day & Zimmermann company, seeks an entry-level Battery Cell Process Engineer to support laboratory-scale cell development and prototyping in Mountain View. You will assist senior engineers with pilot-line operations, pouch cell assembly, and process improvement.
The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least one year of hands-on battery manufacturing experience, plus familiarity with glove-box environments and lithium-ion processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- At least one year of hands-on experience with laboratory battery manufacturing, pilot-line equipment, or pouch cell assembly.
- Experience in lab, cleanroom, dry-room or glove-box environments handling chemicals and battery materials.
- Familiarity with lithium-ion cell manufacturing steps such as slurry prep, coating, calendaring, stacking, electrolyte filling, sealing.
Responsibilities
- Support laboratory-scale pouch cell production and DOE evaluations.
- Operate and maintain pilot-line equipment and related environments.
- Assist with DOEs to improve cell consistency, yield and performance.
- Record results in tracking systems and maintain process documentation.
