Job summary

Textron Aviation in Wichita, KS is seeking an entry-level Avionics and Electrical Systems Engineer to contribute to piston, turboprop, and jet aircraft programs. You will work on the full product development pipeline, from legacy support to new product development, under mentorship through the EDGE program.

You will prepare wiring diagrams, assist test plans, and support certification activities under CFR 14 Part 23/25.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with avionics or electrical system design is desirable.
  • Proficiency with computer-aided wiring diagram drawing tools (Mentor Graphics preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and good time management.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare wiring diagrams and harness assembly preparation using Mentor Graphics.
  • Assist in writing test plans, conformity requests, functional tests, and compliance reports.
  • Prepare functional test documents for avionics and electrical systems.
  • Assist in production and field support including design evaluations, troubleshooting, and root-cause analyses.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, customer service, ISC, flight test, and airworthiness.
