Job summary

Smith Auto Family Slaton is seeking a dedicated auto technician to join our family-run shop in Texas. You will perform repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics following dealership and factory standards while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Entry-level qualifications including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair preferred
• Good communication and customer-service mindset
• Willingness to learn new technology and procedures

Responsibilities

• Document and perform work on repair orders following dealership and factory standards
• Drain oil from crankcase and refill; replace oil and air filters
• Inspect vehicle fluid levels and replenish as needed
• Check tire pressure and adjust as necessary
• Coordinate with parts department to obtain needed parts
• Keep shop area neat and tools accounted for
• Operate all tools and equipment safely
• Perform repairs and services per repair orders and warranty specs
• Test-drive vehicles and diagnose components using diagnostic tools
• Explain services and times to customers and provide repair estimates
