Job summary

ARCO Companies is seeking an entry-level Assistant Superintendent to run projects nationwide from the United States. In this role you will collaborate with the project manager to develop schedules, coordinate subs, and ensure projects meet specifications and profitability.

You will travel as needed, support preconstruction planning, and maintain tight communication with the project team while upholding ARCO's safety program and values.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of construction experience on large-scale projects.
• Willing to travel across the United States.
• Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams, direct work, and resolve conflicts.
• Attend post-award review and draft preconstruction plans.
• Help develop schedules with PM and allocate resources.
• Oversee work to meet specs, schedule, and profitability.
• Coordinate subcontractors within project timeline.
• Assist in progress and cost reporting.
• Review requisitions, PO/invoices, and key docs.
• Maintain communication with PM on progress and issues.
• Complete daily project reports and ensure safety compliance.
• Uphold integrity and quality in line with ARCO values

A DAY IN THE LIFE

• Demonstrate strong leadership with the ability and willingness to face challenges, direct teams, and effectively resolve conflicts
• Attend the post-award review meeting to gather project details and begin preconstruction planning
• Partner with the project manager to develop the construction schedule, including activity sequencing, manpower, and equipment needs
• Oversee the project to ensure work meets specifications, stays on schedule, and achieves target profitability
• Coordinate subcontractor activities to ensure effective performance within the project timeline
• Assist in the preparation of job progress and cost reports to accurately reflect actual costs
• Review and approve requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and key project documents
• Maintain constant communication with the project manager to keep them informed of job progress, plans, and issues that may impact costs or schedules
• Complete daily reports documenting key project details, events, conditions, visitors, client interactions, commitments, and approvals
• Enforce adherence to the company’s safety program in all phases of the project
• Lead with integrity and a commitment to quality, upholding company values and focusing on exceeding internal and external client expectations

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

• 0-2 years of construction experience on warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, and/or cold storage projects that are a minimum of 100k square feet
• Willing to travel throughoutthe United States
• Proficiencyin construction management software (e.g.Procore, Bluebeam, MS Excel)
• Possessandmaintaina current, valid driver’s license in your state of residence
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including but not limitedto:standing or walking for long periods of time, occasionally on uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and/or lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds.
