Job summary

Dearing Compressor & Pump Co in Youngstown, OH is seeking an entry-level 1st shift Assembly Technician to build, assemble, and package industrial compressor equipment. This role offers hands-on training across production areas and opportunities for skill development.

You will read blueprints, operate shop equipment, and work with standard hand and power tools. The position requires reliability, teamwork, and the ability to pass background checks; overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years in manufacturing, construction, or mechanical trades preferred (steel/fabrication a plus).
• Basic mechanical aptitude; able to read blueprints, perform simple math, take tape measurements.
• Must provide basic personal tool set and operate hand/power tools.
• Team player with reliable attendance and readiness to work overtime/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, disassemble, and package components and compressor units for shipment.
• Operate production equipment, shop machinery, surface prep tools, and material handling equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to complete tasks.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; ensure PPE is worn.
• Adhere to safety protocols in dynamic shop environments.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
