Job summary

Delta Air Lines is seeking an Airplane Backing Specialist (ASM) to join TechOps in the United States. You will assist with inspections, component replacement, and troubleshooting under the mentorship of Airplane Support Experts (AMTs).

This entry-level role offers growth opportunities within Delta’s maintenance organization. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, legal work authorization in the US, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the US.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must pass a background check including fingerprinting.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and follow-up testing.
  • Must read, write, speak English.
  • Must embrace diversity and teamwork.
  • Prioritize safety in all duties.

Responsibilities

  • Performs work activities according to established rules, safety standards, and procedures to ensure personal and nearby safety.
  • Inspects for damage or wear that could affect safety, reliability or customer experience and reports issues.
  • Proposes replacement, repair, or modification of aircraft hardware based on inspection.
  • Reports issues and irregularities to appropriate staff as required.
  • Tests hardware and mechanical equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Installs or removes aircraft components per drawings and specifications.
  • Repairs or replaces worn or damaged parts using hand tools and testing equipment.
  • Investigates equipment or system operation issues to determine root cause.
