Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Junior Aircraft Mechanic in Linthicum, Maryland to troubleshoot, repair, and service aircraft and engine systems in a 1st shift role. Responsibilities include maintenance, disassembly, rework, and FAA record-keeping in compliance with regulations.

The ideal candidate holds an FAA Airframe and Power Plant certificate, a high school diploma or equivalent, and 0–3 years of aviation maintenance experience with licensure current within the last 24 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• FAA Airframe and Power Plant certificate required.
• 0–3 years experience as an aircraft mechanic; current licensure within the last 24 months preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and service aircraft and engine systems following manuals, directives, drawings and FAA regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance actions and inspections per FAA and military requirements.
• Schedule operations according to master schedule and report delays with recommended solutions.
• Assist supervision in determining needed ground support equipment and spare parts.
• Ensure test equipment is calibrated and within schedule.
• Discuss functional requirements and issues with supervision and verify system compliance.
• Maintain clean, orderly work areas and support facilities including hangar and ramp.
• Provide training to aircrews on use and care of aircrew life support equipment.
