Job summary

Aerotek in Chesterfield, MO is seeking a Production Assembly Technician (Assembler) to fabricate barrier filters and aero structures for rotorcraft, performing precision mechanical assembly and close-tolerance drilling and rivet installation.

You will read blueprints, use hand and power tools, maintain production records, and work a 4-day, 10-hour shift with overtime; this climate-controlled small shop offers weekly pay and benefits upon conversion to a direct role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Entry-level to 3 years of experience in mechanical or structural assembly, sheet metal work, or a related field.
• Hands-on rivet installation and basic fastener installation.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Drilling experience with close-tolerance hole drilling and countersinking.
• Mechanical aptitude with hand and power tools.
• Ability to perform in-process inspections with micrometers, rulers, and calipers.
• Comfort working with chemicals and PPE compliance.
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work extended hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Build engine inlet air filtration systems for rotorcraft according to engineering specifications and quality standards.
• Fabricate and assemble sheet metal sub-assemblies for rotorcraft platforms and low-volume parts.
• Perform close-tolerance hole drilling, countersinking, fastener installation, rivet installation, trimming, and assembly operations.
• Install and remove rivets and hi-loks as required.
• Interpret and follow engineering drawings to ensure proper build.
• Conduct in-process self-inspections using micrometers, rulers, and calipers.
