Job summary

Scaled Composites is seeking an enthusiastic Associate Accountant to join our Accounting team in Mojave, CA. This entry-level role supports daily accounting functions, assists with month-end close, and gains exposure to government contract accounting and financial reporting.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, understands GAAP, and is eager to learn Deltek Costpoint while contributing to audits and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline.
• Internship or coursework in accounting can be considered in lieu of formal work history.
• Solid understanding of GAAP concepts from coursework.
• Ability to learn accounting systems such as Deltek Costpoint.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the monthly accounting close process, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Support Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger activities as needed.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation for audits and internal controls.
• Assist with government compliance tasks related to CAS, FAR, and DCAA requirements.
• Support project accounting activities such as billing, funding tracking, and cost reporting.
• Prepare basic financial reports and participate in data analysis for Program teams.
• Contribute to improvements of accounting workflows and system processes.
• Provide administrative and analytical support to senior accounting staff.
