Hexion is seeking an entry-level Accountant in Columbus, OH to join the Financial Shared Services team. You will prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, and support the monthly close across various accounting areas, with opportunities to grow into broader responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 0–2 years accounting experience; recent graduates welcome.
• Basic understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic formulas).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective written and verbal communication; ability to work across global teams.
• CPA candidate or intent to pursue CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries as part of the monthly close, including accruals and reclassifications.
• Maintain supporting documentation for entries and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist in close tasks, prepare financial reporting packages, and variance analysis.
• Provide documentation for audits and help maintain accounting policies; leverage AI tools for process improvements.
