We are looking to hire an Entry‑Level Accountant with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and 3–5 years of related accounting experience to join our dynamic team and help continue delivering world‑class products. Working knowledge of computerized and costing systems is required.
Position Summary
- Preparation and distribution of various statistical reports
- Print and maintain files for various month‑end reports for record keeping
- Update, reconcile and maintain approximately 100 balance sheet account folders with appropriate documentation and schedules
- Responsible for maintaining accurate bank reconciliations on 3 accounts (CNB‑General Acct, P/R Acct, JPM/Chase Acct)
- Responsible for maintaining accurate records on company assets (including copies of vendor’s invoices and appropriate Request for Appropriations forms for each asset)
- Responsible for maintaining accurate G/L balances for Historical Cost and Accumulated Depreciation Costs
- Maintain files of vehicle titles, registration, and insurance
- Monthly reconciliation of CIP accounts
- Tracking proper coding for departmental promotional accounts
- Maintenance of permanent records for legal, property, contracts, leases, insurance, company credit cards, 401(k) documents, and audits
- Preparation of all Government reports (MA 100, MA 200, BE 20, BE 22, BE 93)
- Participate in physical inventory, budget process, mid‑year closing, and year‑end closing
- Participate in special requests issued by Yamaha
- Actively participate in gathering information for all audits (inventory, financial, 401(k), workers’ comp)
- Backup resource for other accounting positions
- Research and understand company processes/systems through discussion with various department managers
- Document current processes/systems through graphs, flowcharts, etc.
- Work with department managers to identify areas for improvements in workflow/efficiency
- Document changes for improvements
- Monitor success of processes/systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 3–5 years of related accounting experience
- Good analytical and organizational skills
- Good knowledge of Excel and computerized accounting and costing systems
