Job summary

Gables Search Group is seeking an entry-level manufacturing engineer to support production processes in Memphis. The role involves learning manufacturing systems, aiding continuous improvement initiatives, and working under close supervision with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities include standard work instruction maintenance, on-floor troubleshooting, data collection/analysis, and participation in Lean/Six Sigma projects, as well as supporting tooling and safety/quality compliance.

Qualifications

• BSME or equivalent
• 0 to 2 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role
• Introductory Lean concepts (5S, waste reduction)
• CAD exposure (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
• Excel / basic data analysis

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining standard work instructions
• Support process troubleshooting on the production floor
• Collect and analyze basic production data (scrap, cycle time, downtime)
• Participate in Lean / Six Sigma projects (often as a team member)
• Help implement process improvements and cost reduction ideas
• Support tooling, fixtures, and equipment setup
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
• Work with operators and technicians to resolve day-to-day issues

Job description

Our client is a very well established manufacturer of products for the expanding electric power industry. They have an immediate need for an entry/junior level manufacturing engineer to join their staff in Memphis--They would love someone bilingual Spanish/English but it is not mandatory. They will assist with relo, but really ideally for someone who is renting an apartment who would be an inexpensive relo.

This entry-level engineer is responsible for supporting production processes, learning manufacturing systems, and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives under close supervision. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
