This role involves Lean/Six Sigma participation, data collection and analysis, and collaboration with multiple departments to drive cost reductions and process improvements.

Qualifications

• BSME or equivalent is required.
• 0 to 2 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Introductory Lean concepts (5S, waste reduction).
• CAD exposure with SolidWorks or AutoCAD; Excel for data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining standard work instructions.
• Support process troubleshooting on the production floor.
• Collect and analyze basic production data (scrap, cycle time, downtime).
• Participate in Lean / Six Sigma projects as a team member.
• Help implement process improvements and cost reduction ideas.
• Support tooling, fixtures, and equipment setup.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with operators and technicians to resolve day-to-day issues.

Our client is a very well established manufacturer of products for the expanding electric power industry. They have an immediate need for an entry/junior level manufacturing engineer to join their staff in Memphis--They would love someone bilingual Spanish/English but it is not mandatory. They will assist with relo, but really ideally for someone who is renting an apartment who would be an inexpensive relo.

This entry-level engineer is responsible for supporting production processes, learning manufacturing systems, and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives under close supervision. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
