Job summary
S&M E in Columbus, Ohio is seeking an entry-level Geotechnical Engineer to support civil, geotechnical and environmental projects under licensed engineers. You will gain real-world experience through fieldwork and office analysis, including subsurface exploration, data interpretation, and technical reporting.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering and an Engineer in Training (EIT) certification with PE licensure plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
- EIT certification with intent to pursue PE licensure.
- Strong interest in fieldwork and analytical reporting.
- Good technical writing skills at college level.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field investigations including soil borings, monitoring, and sample collection at project sites.
- Analyze subsurface conditions and support laboratory testing programs.
- Assist with interpretation of geotechnical data and prepare technical reports.
- Perform construction and environmental inspections to ensure compliance with plans and standards.
- Coordinate with contractors, laboratories, and project team members.
