Job summary

Grocery Outlet is seeking entrepreneurial Independent Operators to own and run their own Grocery Outlet store. This hands-on role combines leadership, buying, and community engagement, with autonomy to shape store performance while leveraging the company’s buying model and support network.

Ideal candidates have at least 4 years of retail store management experience, a passion for delivering value, and the ability to relocate.

Qualifications

Minimum of 4 years' retail store management or multi-unit restaurant management experience.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for retail and customer service.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to build and develop a team.
Business acumen with financial and operational management experience.
Willingness to relocate and commit to full training and onboarding.
Drive for success and ability to work independently while leveraging the Grocery Outlet network.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily store functions, including inventory management, compliance, and financial oversight to ensure profitability and growth.
Recruit, hire, and train a high-performing team to deliver outstanding customer service and operational excellence.
Buying & merchandising: leverage Grocery Outlet’s buying model to meet local community preferences.
Community engagement: support local organizations and causes in line with our mission.
Financial & business acumen: manage sales, margins, expenses, and overall profitability.
Customer experience: create an inviting shopping environment by keeping the store clean and well-stocked.
