Job summary

AbbVie is seeking an IAM Directory Services Engineer to join the Information Security & Risk Management (ISRM) team. You will design, implement, and manage enterprise-grade Directory and Authentication solutions for a global workforce of 80,000 users, focusing on Entra ID, AD, and certificate services.

The role emphasizes automation with PowerShell, Zero Trust architecture, RBAC, and cross-functional collaboration across engineering, security, and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree with 5 years’ experience or Master’s degree with 4 years’ experience.
• Demonstrated experience with Entra ID/Azure AD and Active Directory.
• Advanced proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and management of identity systems.
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Entra ID features (conditional access, MFA, SSO).
• Experience supporting certificate and authentication services (AD CS).
• Excellent problem-solving skills; able to work in a fast-paced global environment.
• Strong collaboration across engineering, security, and operations teams.
• In-depth knowledge of securing identity platforms and hybrid directory environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain Microsoft Entra ID solutions including CA policies, MFA, SSO, and Zero Trust.
• Design and manage custom roles/RBAC in Entra ID across hybrid/multi-cloud.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate identity tasks.
• Hardening Entra ID and hybrid identity controls with policy tuning and guardrails.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate apps and cloud services.
• Troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis of Entra ID and AD auth issues.
• Manage certificate lifecycle and authentication infrastructure (AD CS, SCEP/NDES) and tools like SpecOps/LastPass.
• Stay current with IAM trends and related technologies.
