Job summary

Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a dependable Laboratory Technician to support entomology and plant science testing in Indianapolis, IN. This hands-on role involves working with insects, plant materials, and nematodes across labs, greenhouses, and insectary settings.

This 1-year contract offers a Monday–Friday schedule, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, and a pay rate of $20.00–$22.00/hour. Excellent for hands-on learners who follow procedures and seek growth in a specialized scientific environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Biology or a related field required.
• Previous laboratory experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive, routine tasks accurately.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established protocols.
• Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Clip and thin plants used in testing procedures.
• Handle and introduce non-stinging, non-hazardous insect species to plant materials and artificial diets for testing.
• Prepare routine assays using manual pipettes.
• Apply specialized assays using hand sprayers and track sprayers.
• Grade and evaluate insect assays according to established protocols.
• Prepare media for entomology testing.
• Assist evaluators by recording observations and scribing results.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and supplies.
• Follow laboratory SOPs and all applicable safety and ergonomic guidelines.
• Adapt to changing priorities and assist with tasks across laboratory, greenhouse, and insectary environments.
