Job summary

McAdams is a full-service land planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, transportation, and geomatics firm in the Carolinas. We seek a Senior Planner to strengthen our entitlement group and lead projects through all phases of design, due diligence, planning, entitlement and site development.

This role requires proposal writing, budget management, staff development, and strong client relationships; you will guide projects across market sectors and mentor junior staff, while fostering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Landscape Architecture, City/Community/Regional Planning, Urban Planning, or related field required.
• Must possess RLA or AICP licensure.
• 5-8 years' experience in planning or design is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee entitlement applications (zoning amendments, conditional use permits, variances) and ensure documentation is complete.
• Manage planning or entitlement projects through review; respond to comments and secure approvals.
• Apply quality control to planning deliverables ensuring regulatory compliance and accuracy.
• Assist Project Manager or lead project teams through design input and entitlement processes.
• Support scoping, proposals, and change orders; track progress, timelines and budgets.
