Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern CA Division in Whittier, CA is seeking a Teacher for the Santa Fe Springs TLC program. You will assist in instructional and recreational activities, and provide child care for infants through school age children in a supportive team setting.

You will plan and supervise daily activities, monitor health and safety, and maintain development records. A California Teacher Child Development Permit and a valid driver's license are required; prior teaching or assistant

Qualifications

• Must be in good health and able to meet classroom demands.
• Hold and maintain a California Driver's license.
• Hold a Teacher Child Development Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
• At least one year experience in related field.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and supervise center activities.
• Provide for health, safety and psychological needs of children.
• Communicate with children, staff, parents and volunteers.
• Change diapers and provide hygienic care.
• Maintain a positive, safe, clean atmosphere.
• Record each child’s development and progress.
• Prepare and complete records and reports timely.
• Attend staff meetings and training as requested.
• Assist Site Supervisor as needed.
