Job summary

Paramount Skydance Corporation in Los Angeles seeks an experienced Corporate Counsel for Business Affairs to negotiate and structure scripted television deals across development, production, and distribution. The role partners with staff attorneys and cross-functional teams, balancing legal risk with strategic business goals.

The Counsel will manage high-stakes negotiations, draft agreements, and provide practical advice to executives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years negotiating deals and drafting agreements in scripted television development and production.
• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• California Bar Membership or eligibility to register as in-house counsel.
• Working knowledge of WGA, DGA, and SAG-AFTRA CBAs.
• Meaningful experience with intellectual property law (copyright and trademark).
• Exemplary negotiation and drafting skills with a track record of structuring and closing complex, high-value deals.

Responsibilities

• Lead and/or assist the negotiating and structuring of complex TV agreements.
• Manage acquisitions, talent/production, and licensing/distribution agreements.
• Cultivate relationships with internal teams, outside counsel, and talent reps.
• Advise on terms, risks, rights, chain-of-title, IP, clearances, and guild compliance.
• Identify win-win solutions to achieve business goals while mitigating risk.
• Help develop department practices, procedures, and contracts.
