Job summary

Harbor Light Entertainment seeks a Corporate Legal & Operations professional to support corporate contracts, joint ventures, IP, and general business activities. You will structure transactions, draft and negotiate agreements, and manage legal matters while contributing to broader business operations.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of legal experience in entertainment, media, IP, or related fields, with commercial mindset and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school is required.
• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; California bar preferred.
• 2–4 years of relevant legal experience.
• Experience in corporate law, commercial transactions, entertainment law, IP, finance, or related areas.
• Ability to draft and negotiate commercial and corporate agreements.
• Strong understanding of contract structure, risk, and business terms.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support to HLE leadership across corporate and business matters.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage corporate and commercial agreements.
• Support negotiating and executing film, television, media, production, financing, licensing, distribution, and partnership agreements.
• Assist with general corporate matters.
• Review contracts and identify key legal, financial, operational, and business risks.
• Advise leadership on obligations, rights, liabilities, and exposure.
• Support IP matters including ownership, licensing, and protection of HLE's IP portfolio.
• Assist with financing structures, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
• Coordinate with outside counsel on specialized matters as needed.
• Maintain organized records of contracts and corporate documents.
• Develop and maintain internal legal processes and templates.
• Conduct legal research and provide practical recommendations.
