Job summary

Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park in Denver, CO is seeking a stagehand to support performances and help ensure smooth show operations across indoor and outdoor venues.

You will greet guests, provide helpful assistance, enforce safety requirements, and operate stage, lighting, and sound equipment. The role requires physical stamina, ability to work in noisy conditions, and flexibility for weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Previous stagehand, technical theatre, or shows production experience required.
  • Some experience in theatrical lighting or audio equipment required.
  • Oral and written English skills to communicate with guests and employees.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests and provide courteous service; assist with questions, comments, and concerns.
  • Perform stagehand duties for shows, concerts, and events: load in/out, follow spot operations, sound/light board operations, technical setups, and related tasks.
  • Reset shows between performances and keep venues clean and organized.
  • Track show attendance and assist with ushering and front of house duties.
  • Assist with special events and other duties within and outside of the entertainment department.

JOB SUMMARY: Act as a stagehand and assist in the smooth operations of performances.
  • Greet and provide Guests with courteous service. Assist Guests as needed with questions, comments, and concerns. Inform Guests of and enforce safety requirements and park policies.
  • Perform stagehand and other duties for shows, concerts, and special events such as but not limited to; load in/out, follow spot operations, sound/light board operations, technical systems install and set up, loading pyrotechnics, check and replace lighting gels/lamps daily, troubleshoot and minor repairs to shows sets, venues, technical systems, and park/ride audio systems.
  • Reset shows before and between performances and keep show venues clean and organized.
  • Track shows attendance and assist with ushering and front of house duties.
  • Assist with special events.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned both within and outside of the entertainment department.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous stagehand, technical theatre, or shows production experience required.
  • Some experience in theatrical lighting or audio equipment required.
  • In this position you must possess oral and written English skills and must be able to communicate with guests and other employees effectively.
  • This position will work in moderate to high levels of noise and vibration.
  • Some positions require climbing stairs and/or steps, ladders, working at elevated heights, working on uneven surfaces, bending, and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Frequently exposed to fog/haze machines, strobe lights, black lights.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Required to work in various weather conditions.
  • Available to work overtime.
  • Available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to walk or stand for up to eight hours a shift.
  • Requires occasional kneeling and bending.
  • Requires occasional reaching above shoulder, pushing and pulling.
  • Requires occasional lifts and carries up to 40 pounds.
  • Requires occasional carries up to 100 pounds with the assistance of a two-wheel hand truck.
  • Requires manual and bi-manual dexterity, fine and gross motor skills, eye/hand coordination, near vision, hearing, and speech.
  • Possess 20/20 corrected vision. (Corrective lens, if required, must be worn while on duty).
  • Possess normal or average corrected hearing. (Defined as 25 decibels or better in the frequency range of 500HZ-4000HZ considered normal speech frequency range). (If a corrective device is needed to achieve this range, it must be worn while on duty)
