Job summary

Great Wolf Lodge is hiring an Entertainment Ambassador to create exciting, kid-friendly experiences and lead branded activities across the property. You will perform high-energy shows, art and crafts, storytime, and interactive games for families and children.

The role requires comfortable public performance, a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, and a background in customer service or related entertainment fields. On-site role with comprehensive benefits offered.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage and entertain children in group settings.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with guests and lead hands-on activities and branded experiences.
  • Perform character appearances and entertain guests on site and at events.
  • Act as a guide for characters, including safe and friendly interaction with families.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness during branded events and activities.
  • Support the Entertainment team with inventory and event materials.

Characters do not speak under any circumstancesAct as a Guide for characters to and from designated meet and greet locations. Guides are the 'voice' of the character, so must have the ability and will be expected to converse casually and appropriately with guestsResponsible for character costume operations including care, cleaning, maintenance, etc.Commit entirely to the assigned scheduled opportunities for specific characters ("Wiley", "Violet", or other scheduled character) to appear at on-site and off-site eventsAll character and guide duties are interchangeable - it is expected that each Pack Member is willing and able to fulfill both roles as neededParticipate in seasonal event activities throughout the year.Learn new programming multiple times a year including, but not limited to, dances, crafts or themed events.When not on break, act as though you are on stage at all times, effectively entertaining Pack Members, families and children through public performancePerform and/or provide support to all necessary community appearances. This includes but is not limited to sponsors, charities, tradeshows, media and private functionsAssist Entertainment team with inventory of event & activity materialsMaintain a safe, clean and professional environment during the organization, coordination and production of branded experiencesBasic Qualifications & SkillsComfortable speaking, dancing, and performing in front of large groups of people multiple times a day.Some High School education or equivalentFlexibility regarding scheduling based on business demands including evenings, weekends, and HolidaysProven customer service skills and communication skills; able to read and interpret English language manuals relating to safety, operations, and proceduresSuccessful completion of a criminal background and drug screenDesired Qualifications & TraitsPrevious experience in a related field such as Entertainment, Dance, or Theater.Charismatic, enthusiastic attitudeAbility to multi-task and prioritize a variety of tasks with minimal directionPrevious as a Character and/or working with childrenProven teamwork skillsPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Able to sit and/or stand for long periods of timeAbility to maintain composure in character suits; including heat and humidity for periods of 60 minutesAbility to dance and perform in hot, humid, and outdoor environments for periods up to 60 minutes.Estimated Salary Range:- $16 per hour annual base salaryAn employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of Great Wolf’s total compensation package.
