Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Technology Strategy Senior Manager to lead enterprise strategies at the intersection of technology, business, and growth. You will shape AI, robotics, sensing tech, and application development roadmaps across Caterpillar's businesses.

Lead cross-functional teams, develop business cases, and present recommendations to senior leadership. This role requires deep technical understanding and the ability to translate complex tech into strategic value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CS, Business, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
• 10+ years in technology strategy, corporate strategy, management consulting, or related field.
• Strong working knowledge of AI, robotics, sensing technologies, and application development.
• Ability to translate technology investments into business value and strategic roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise technology strategy engagements across business units and ecosystems.
• Develop enterprise roadmaps for AI, robotics, sensing tech, and application development.
• Translate technical developments into executive-level recommendations and business cases.
• Assess platforms, use cases, markets, and sources of competitive advantage.
• Create strategic roadmaps linking customer needs to technology capabilities and investments.
• Evaluate build, buy, partner, and invest options for strategic fit and value.
• Identify technology-enabled products, services, and new business models.
• Partner with Digital, IT, engineering, and other enterprise functions.
• Develop investment theses quantifying market potential and execution risk.
• Lead market research, technology scouting, and ecosystem analysis.
• Present recommendations to senior leadership and align around priorities.
• Develop early-warning perspectives on disruptive technologies.
