Job description

Position Summary

This position is responsible for working closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Club House Manager on outside golf operations to ensure a smooth experience for members and guests. The Cart Attendant provides exceptional customer service by ensuring golf carts are stocked, cleaned, and ready for golfers. Excellent listening skills and eagerness to serve are essential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Follow procedures for proper opening and closing of the course.
  2. Meet, greet, and serve all members and guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner following all facility policies and procedures.
  3. Provide clear communication to the golf shop via radio transmission.
  4. Ensure cart cleanliness, supplies, condition, and fueling.
  5. Assist golf shop staff with tournament setup of golf carts.
  6. Maintain equipment, including golf carts and pickers, and organize cart storage.
  7. Operate equipment safely and report safety issues immediately.
  8. Rotate golf carts to ensure even usage across the fleet.
  9. Ensure all carts are accounted for, refueled, and ready for operation.
  10. Assist in returning, storing, and staging golf carts.
  11. Refer significant problems or complaints to a supervisor.
  12. Monitor the golf course for suspicious activity.
  13. Provide leftover golf keys to the Pro Shop for safety and damage prevention.
  14. Keep outside areas tidy, neat, and clean.
  15. Arrange carts neatly after use to prevent passage clogging.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Perform additional duties as needed for the Cart Attendant role.
  2. Assist grounds crew with tasks like weed eating and filling ball washers.
  3. Perform custodial duties such as trash removal and organizing supplies.
  4. Maintain order and flow of player traffic.
  5. Track and report supply needs for daily operations.
  6. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Peers within the department, supervisors, managers, executives, Board of Directors, customers, and outside vendors.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Constant standing, walking, reaching, hearing, smelling, and visual acuity. Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Exposure to noise and potential hazards from equipment. Ability to stand, kneel, and bend for 6-8 hours.

REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: Knowledge of golf courses and golf games preferred.

Certification/License: Maintain good moral character; pass pre-employment drug testing.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Follow safety instructions when operating equipment. Work independently and deal effectively with the public. Prioritize duties, work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Communicate clearly via in-person, radio, writing, phone, and email. Promote positive public relations. Respond effectively to stressful situations. Analyze situations and take appropriate actions. Native American preferred.
