Job summary

Physicians Mutual is seeking a Head of Strategic Planning to shape our long-term direction and enterprise-wide planning. You will partner with senior leaders to align priorities, investments, and initiatives that drive value for customers and policyowners.

In this high-impact role, you will mature our OKR framework, guide strategy development, and act as a trusted advisor to executives. This leadership position emphasizes collaboration, accountability, and driving results through others.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years in strategic planning or related leadership roles.
• 5+ years leading cross-functional teams and influencing at the executive level.
• Ability to simplify complexity and drive action.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with senior leaders and Boards.
• Strategic thinker with analytical skills to translate insights into outcomes.
• Experience with facilitation, organizational planning, and program management.
• Knowledge of insurance industry or related sectors is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise strategic planning process and align with short- and long-term goals.
• Partner with senior leaders to identify opportunities, risks, and dependencies.
• Mature OKR framework and track value realization across the organization.
• Provide executive updates on initiatives, risks, and outcomes.
• Design strategy workshops and executive offsites; enable execution.
• Build capability through tools, processes, and best practices.
• Incorporate external market insights to inform planning and growth.
