Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Solutions Architect is responsible for the overall design of the CLIENT Enterprise application and the mapping of business requirements to technical requirements. The Solutions Architect will primarily produce project estimates and design documents, and secondarily build project plans, guide development and Quality Assurance teams, and work as a team member to deliver a complete solution for CLIENT's customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Produce detailed functional design documents to match customer requirements and create technical specifications for development and integration.
• Provide guidance to Development, UAT, and implementation efforts.
• Participate in training design, documentation, and delivery.
• Lead project meetings with the customer when needed.
• Participate in internal projects as required.
• Assist in process flow analysis and redesign alongside the Project Manager, Account Executive, PMO, and Business Solution SME.

REQUIREMENTS

• Self-motivated with a proven success record in a dynamic technical environment within a rapidly expanding customer base.
• Organized, analytical, team-oriented, and capable of designing and implementing project schedules.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• High knowledge of the life and health insurance industry; familiarity with annuities and/or Universal Life is a plus.
• Extensive experience in project estimates, design documents, and project plans.
• Experience with web services, service-oriented architecture, and enterprise application architecture.
• Experience building interfaces between different applications.
• Proven ability to present designs, build consensus, and negotiate scope with stakeholders.
• Understanding of business requirements and converting them into solution designs.
• Knowledge of the entire software development lifecycle.
• Experience with web-based, service-based, and enterprise architectures; managing expectations within business and financial constraints.
• Familiarity with Agile (Scrum) methodology is a plus.
• Experience with enterprise integration and ETL tools.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience with proven solutions knowledge.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.
