Job summary

Erias Ventures is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement complex software capabilities for computer-based systems. You will work closely with a talented team to deliver scalable solutions using modern Java frameworks and enterprise APIs.

In this fast-paced, small-business environment, you will apply best practices, participate in the agile lifecycle, and continuously improve testing and quality.

Qualifications

• At least five years of software engineering experience with modern Java frameworks and libraries (e.g., Spring, Guava).
• Three years of relevant experience with a Master's degree; or nine years with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in designing enterprise APIs and RESTful services; strong understanding of microservices.

Description

We are seeking a Software who will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex software capabilities for computer-based systems. Will work closely with other talented engineers to create software solutions that meet the needs of our clients. Clearance

Must currently have and maintain an active Top Secret level U.S. Government Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.

Experience

At least five (5) years of experience in Software Engineering, Modern Java Frameworks and Libraries (e.g., Spring, Guava) and a Bachelors in related field; three (3) years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and nine (9) years relevant experience.

Required Skills

• Must have a strong working knowledge and experience developing Java based software capabilities


• Experience with Next-Gen Coding Agents: Proven track record of integrating advanced AI agents, specifically Claude Code or Google's Antigravity / Gemini agentic workflows, into your daily software engineering routine


• Agentic Feature & Test Development: Experience using autonomous agents to handle multi-file feature implementations, complex codebase refactoring, and the automated generation of robust unit/integration tests


• Context & Workflow Management: Ability to guide AI agents through complex, multi-repository application architectures, managing context efficiently and critically auditing agent-generated code for security, performance, and architectural alignment


• Experience in designing enterprise APIs


• Experience in RESTful web services


• Experience in Microservices architecture


• Experience in Object Oriented Programming (OOP) paradigms


• Experience with the agile software lifecycle


• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g. Git, Nexus, Maven)


• Comfortable working on a linux command line


• Has a proven ability to learn quickly and works well both independently as well as in a team setting


• Problem solving skills and ability to review information and compile data appropriately as needed


• Must possess or be able to obtain IAT Level II certification within 60 days of start date (CompTIA Security+ CE, CompTIA CySA+, SSCP, GIAC GSEC, CCNA Security, GICSP)


• Must be able to work on customer site in Fort Meade, MD 3-4 days a week. Flexibility is essential to adapt to schedule changes as needed

Desired Skills

• Current Clearances: Active TS/SCI clearance is a strong plus


• Experience in cloud based technologies (AWS, Azure)


• Experience in distributed databases, NoSQL databases, full text-search engines (e.g. Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Solr)


• Scripting experience is a huge plus


• Next-Gen Coding Agents: Proven use of AI tools (Claude Code, Gemini) in daily engineering workflows


• Agentic Feature Delivery: Using autonomous agents for multi-file implementation, refactoring, and automated testing


• Prior experience or familiarity with Data Lakes/Warehouses (speificially BDP or JCRS-D) is a plus


• Understanding of AGILE software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Github Enterprise, etc.)
